Register online and fill in the questionnaire. If it's appropriate to do so, one of our doctors will then send you the oral herpes treatment. We'll dispatch your herpes treatment using Royal Mail Special Delivery. Someone will need to sign for it when it arrives.

How to take the Aciclovir
The Aciclovir genital herpes treatment we prescribe is an oral medicine. You need to take one 400mg pill three times a day for five days. You should start taking your Aciclovir as soon as you feel a herpes outbreak beginning.
Effectiveness of Aciclovir
While there's no cure for genital herpes, it's possible to reduce the duration and severity of a herpes outbreak by taking this herpes treatment. Taking Aciclovir 400mg as instructed typically lessons the duration of a herpes outbreak by one to two days.
Potential side-effects of Aciclovir
This antiviral herpes medicine can cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea or an allergic rash.
Alternatives to this course of Aciclovir 400mg
Instead of taking one pill three times a day for five days, an alternative is to take a lower dose of Aciclovir five times a day for five days. Both courses of Aciclovir aim to reduce the severity and duration of an outbreak.
Ointment to reduce the discomfort of an outbreak
Some patients also take a local anaesthetic ointment that contains lidocaine 5%. The ointment does not reduce the severity or duration of an outbreak but aims to remove some of the discomfort felt. You can request the ointment here.
