How the service works
Register online and fill in the questionnaire. If it's safe to do so, one of our doctors will then send you the
treatment. We'll normally dispatch your treatment next working day. You'll need to sign for it when it arrives. We'll give
you a full refund if it's not safe to send you your herpes treatment.
How to take it
The herpes treatment we prescribe is an oral medication that you need to take by mouth for five days. You start taking
as soon as you feel an herpes outbreak beginning.
Efficacy
While there's no cure for genital herpes, it's possible to reduce the discomfort of a herpes outbreak by taking this
herpes treatment.
Potential side-effects
This antiviral medication can cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea or an allergic rash.
Alternative treatment options
Instead of taking these antiviral tablets, you could use a local anaesthetic cream. Someone who gets five or more herpes
outbreaks and year should also consider so-called suppression therapy for genital herpes. We can't offer supression therapy
off this website so you'd need to talk to your GP or local GUM clinic about it, or DrThom provides suppression at our London
clinic.
Unsuitable patients
